State of the Heart

Ubqari Magazine - May 2014

What I saw, heard and thought, from the pen of the editor.

Where I meet many people every day, try to guide them for spiritual and physical problems and then say to Allah in solitudes. O Allah! My house is empty, if someone went empty handed from my house, what is a big thing about that. But o Allah! No one should go empty handed from your full house. I say things to Allah in my prayers. Thats it! Then Allah fulfills the needs of people with His hidden treasures. Along with this, I keep on collecting people’s observations and experiences as well. A few among them have lessons for us, valuable advice and medical and spiritual experiences that I consider my sole duty to convey to the people. One woman explained her experience. She said, a mother-in-law was constantly slandering her daughter-in-law that it appears as if my daughter-in-law had given birth to blind children. Such an unfortunate daughter-in-law has come to my house that due to which my grandchildren have started wearing glasses. And she was saying many such things. I was listening to them. I do not know what came to my mind. (Today I am embarrassed about my mistake and acknowledging it). After a few days I went again to the house of the mother of that daughter-in-law. Her mother was sitting on a prayer mat and she was constantly doing zikr. The same thing that her daughter’s mother-in-law had said to her, I told the whole story to her mother. Her mother started crying. And the daughter became very sad and tormented, that they cannot control these things. I felt that I should not have said that thing. Due to what I said definitely tormented their hearts. After that in a few days my children started losing their sights. And they started wearing glasses. Now I think that what I did was wrong. I should not have done that. I am persistently ashamed about this grief. What should I do now? I am very upset. I should not have backbitten about them and I am ashamed about what I said.’ That lady was explaining that while crying that definitely anyone’s heart should not be broken. If you hurt someone, the same torment or grief can contract you too.
